Overview and Current Status of Chengdu’s Offices

  • As of December 31, 2013, the number of Chengdu’s international airlines and foreign consulates ranked No.1 in all cities of Western China. In the same year, Chengdu became the 4th city where 72-hour transit visa exemption policy was adopted after Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
  • So far, 252 of the world’s top 500 enterprises have settled in Chengdu.

2013 Commercial market Supply and Demand Review

Except for office buildings such as Raffles City and IFS in downtown, other existing office building projects of Chengdu are mainly centralized in southern Chengdu, covering an area of 1568700m2. Office buildings for sale include Chengdu INTIME Center, New Hope International, East Hope Center, The World Is Flat, Forte International Plaza, Seaton International Plaza and so forth. However, eastern Chengdu has the fewest office buildings (such as ICC) in stock, covering an area of 195600m2 and accounting for only 7% of the total unoccupied office units. In the first half of 2013, New Century Global Center ranked No.1 in terms of office building area sold, with an average monthly transacted area of nearly 20000m2.

According to Chengdu’s “two axes” planning, office buildings at South Renmin Road and its extension will mainly be used as management headquarters and operation headquarters of various Chinese and foreign brand enterprises, multinational enterprises and the world’s top 500 enterprises as well as regional headquarters and operation management centers of companies of financial, insurance, information consultation and other industries.
